TRIP DESCRIPTION
Starting in Chamonix, a rock climber's mecca, we will spend a couple of days warming up on south facing multi-pitch routes of all grades. Weather permitting we will follow this by moving to the granite area of the Grimsel Pass in Swizterland. The finale being on a 400m sweep of limestone, the Mirroir d'Argentine. The following itinerary is built around the more moderate of climbs, but the difficulties can easily be increased to suit.

ITINERARY
Day 1 The Dalle de Cheserys above Argentiere in one hour's walk has a selection of sunny 200m not so steep routes. A great place to warm up with exceptional views.

Day 2 The peaks in the Aiguille Rouge offer a multitude of excellent climbs on gneiss. Five to ten pitch routes abound with super fast access.

Day 3 Drive to Grimsel Pass and based in the Grimsel Hospice, we will enjoy the afternoon on superb sweeps of granite.

Day 4 The ten pitch Mitagfluh rises above the village of Guttanen and is a site to behold. We will beat the crowds with an early start and have time to enjoy another route in the afternoon, further up the valley.

Day 5 A good option for today would be the Gross Furkahorn above its namesake Pass. After an hour's uphill effort, this granite ridge offer excellent alpine rock up to Grade 5 for about 14 pitches.

Day 5 Another early start and drive around to Solalex, where above lies the dramatic limestone wall of the Mirroir d'Argentine. It comprises 450m of amazing rock with a simple ridge scramble to finish. Return to Chamonix.
