ALPS . SUMMER . CLIMBING
Mountaineering and climbing in the Alps opens up a wonderful world. Whether you have experience at home or not there are challenges for you at all levels. Allow me to introduce you to lofty peaks, long winding glaciers, alpine ridges and sun baked granite.
If your already active, then maybe a grand course , an ice face or 20 pitch rock route may be an option!

ALPINE MOUNTAINEER A five day introductory alpine mountaineering course. Learn about glacial travel, snow, ice and rock climbing. Becoming an alpinist takes time, let these five days be your start.

TRIP DESCRIPTION
All the basics of alpine travel, climbing and security through expert tuition and advice with a professional Mountain Guide. First two to three days overnight in Chamonix valley , then a two day mountain trip based in huts.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Glacier day. Whole day spent learning ice craft and ropework on locally accessible Mer de Glace
Day 2 Possibly a traverse of the Aguille Crochues which is a classic rock ridge with difficulties up to III, and is a great training ground for rope work/ gear placing etc, and not too high.
Day 3 The Cosmique Arete. A must do route for all alpinists. Short approach and no descent means you can savour this fine experience at altitude with no rush.
Days 4 & 5 Move to the Swiss base of Arolla or Saas Grund to ascend to a mountain hut of our choice. Early start at 4am to climb a nearby peak between 3 and 4000m. Return to Chamonix.
